Appointment of Dr Stephen Wright as Director

GW is pleased to announce the promotion of Dr Stephen Wright to GW’s Board of Directors with immediate effect.

Dr Wright (age 53) joined GW’s senior management team in January 2004 as Research & Development Director. He will retain this title in his new capacity as a main Board director.

Dr Wright joined GW from Ipsen, a major private European pharmaceutical company with turnover in excess of €700m, where he was Senior Vice President, Clinical R&D. Previous positions include Venture Head in Neurosciences and Medical Director of Immunosciences at Abbott Laboratories in the US. He has also held posts as Associate Medical Director at Glaxo Wellcome and Director of Immunology, Inflammation and Dermatology at Scotia Pharmaceuticals.

Dr Geoffrey Guy, Executive Chairman, commented: "Since joining GW’s senior management team last year, Stephen has made a valuable contribution to the Company in advancing its research and development activities. He has an impressive track record in pharmaceutical R&D across large, medium and small companies, with particular expertise in neuroscience development and also prior experience in plant derived medicines. I am therefore delighted that Stephen has joined our Board and look forward to him playing an important role in contributing to the future success of GW."
